Moving On

Starting school is a significant milestone in every child’s life, marking a time of change and growth. At Ben Rhydding Pre-School, we are dedicated to preparing children for this transition so they can approach it with confidence and enthusiasm.

Whether your child is moving to a local primary school, one further afield, or beginning home schooling, we work hard to ensure they are ready for the next stage of their educational journey.

We believe that a positive transition experience can greatly enhance a child’s well-being and learning. That’s why we are committed to supporting both children and their families during this important time, with a strong focus on their social and emotional needs.

Our Transition Goals:

• Help children understand what to expect ahead of time.
• Provide experiences in the new environment and opportunities to meet staff.
• Foster feelings of safety, security, and value in their new school.
• Teach children that school staff will listen to them and respect their input.
• Prepare children for the expectations of school life, including learning and behaviour.
• Ensure they enjoy the excitement of moving to ‘big school.’
• Empower children to feel a sense of control during the process.
