Privacy and Cookies
Ben Rhydding Pre-School processes personal information about its pupils and staff and is a ‘data controller’ for the purposes of the GDPR 2018. The Legal basis for controlling and processing data is ‘compliance’; to comply with Ofsted & Government Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. We collect information from you and may receive information about you or your child from their previous setting. All data is kept securely, and procedures are in place to ensure there is no unauthorised access to your details.
We hold and use your child’s information to support their teaching and learning, monitor and report on their progress and to assess how well we are doing. This is done in paper form and online using written observations, photographs, videos and assessments on a secure database.
The information we hold includes yours and your child’s contact details, your child’s EYFS assessment results, attendance information, ethnic group, special educational needs status and any relevant medical information.
We will seek to acquire your consent when information is to be shared, for example we are required to pass some of your child’s information to Bradford Council to claim the Early Education funding, but will ask that you sign an agreement form for this. We will pass on individual pupil records to the receiving setting when a child moves from one setting to another.
We will not give out information about you or your child to anyone outside the setting without your permission unless the law and our policies permit it, such as when we feel a child is at risk of suffering, significant harm or to prevent significant harm arising
We keep the above information for a reasonable amount of time after your child has left the setting, or in line with legislation for example, serious accident / incident forms must be kept until the child reaches the age of 24.
We use a certified, secure document destruction company for large amounts of shredding – or an internal cross-cut shredder for smaller tasks. This ensures your archived information is dealt with securely when no longer required.
You can ask to see the information we hold about you/your child at any time.
When accessing our website we use cookies. We’ll always treat your details with the utmost care and will never sell them to other companies.
If you want to see a copy of the information we hold and share about you then please contact Helen Northway, Office Manager (Data Protection Officer) on 01943 602487, or admin@brplaygroup.com
