At Ben Rhydding Pre-school Playgroup, we work according to the Early Years Foundation Stage to encourage the development and education of each child. We continually observe, assess and plan what we do in light of the EYFS themes:
A Unique Child – every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.
Positive Relationships – children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and / or a key person.
Enabling Environments – the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.
Learning and Development – children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected. The Characteristics of Effective Learning are the ways in which the child engages with other people and their environment – playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically and underpin learning and development across all areas of development and support the child to remain an effective and motivated learner.’
The Characteristics of Effective learning
support the development of the Unique Child in how children are learning.
We plan our activities carefully to fulfil the EYFS early learning goals:
We promote your child’ self-confidence, social interaction, self-expression and independent learning and make the most of our partnerships with local schools to ensure they enjoy a smooth and happy transition into primary school life.
