Committee Newsletter
Welcome back to playgroup after the half term. We hope your children are settling in well and enjoying playgroup, and that parents new to playgroup are getting used to coming here too. We do have a suggestion box in the foyer if you have any ideas you would like us to look at as a committee for playgroup.
Website
Playgroup now has a website up and running with lots of information such as staff newsletter and policies easily accessible. Check it out on www.brplaygroup.com
Equipment secretary vacancy
Thank you to Julie Riley who will be working with Julie-Anne to ensure playgroup has all the supplies needed.
Fundraising
Thank you to everyone for their generous donations and/or purchase of raffle tickets at the harvest festival. We raised £49, which is great. This will be used along with money raised previously to replace some equipment at playgroup including puzzles, bike, small world toys, and aprons.
Dates for the diary
Saturday 17th November – Toy Sale
Any toys to be sold can be left at Riddings Hall on Friday 16th November from 1 till 3pm or brought on the day between 9 and 10am labelled as directed.
Cakes are also requested for the cake stall on the day, which can be left at Playgroup on Friday 16th November, or taken to Riddings hall on the day.

Christmas party for younger children: Friday 14th December
This will be during usual session times with a party style snack.
Christmas party for pre school group Wednesday 19th December
The party starts at 10.00am and finishes at 12.30pm and will include a party lunch. There will be no additional lunch session on this day. If the later start causes any problems then please speak to a member of staff.
If your child does not usually attend Playgroup on the day of their group’s party, and they would like to come along then please speak to Sandra. If anyone wants to come and help with games, setting up food etc. then please let Sandra know. Father Christmas, or his representative, usually pops in about 15 minutes before the end, parents and carers are welcome to join the party at this point.
Wednesday 12th December performance of ‘The Nativity’
The Pre school group will be performing ‘The Nativity’ and families of all playgroup children are invited to join us from 11.00 onwards for some seasonal entertainment and afterwards for drinks and mince pies. There will be no lunch session on this day.
Friday 14th December Kirkwood Residential home visit
Children who attend this session will be performing for the residents here. Any parents/ carers who can volunteer to accompany children for the trip, please speak to Sandra.
Christmas night out
Please keep an eye on the notice board for details of the Christmas night out.
Catalogues
For School Link Book Club make cheques for orders payable to the Book People Ltd or by credit card on the order form.
Please return orders to Playgroup by 23rd November.
We also have information from Fell Promotions who supply products such as mugs or bags personalised with photographs or text. Please look out a poster on the noticeboard this week for more information.

The final afternoon session will be Tuesday 18th December. Playgroup closes on Wednesday 19th December and re-opens on Monday 7th January 2008.
