Opening Times - ‘Pre-school Group’ and ‘Younger Group'
Our
‘Pre-school Group’ is designed for those children who will be going to
school at the start of the next academic year. Children become eligible
to receive the Nursery Education Fund in the full term after their
third birthday. This entitles them to a maximum of 15 free hours of
child care per week. This can be split between other registered
Pre-school providers.
Due to the
current demand for places in the ‘Pre-school Group’ children moving in
to the ‘Pre-school Group’ are requested to attend or pay for a minimum
of two sessions. Parents not wishing take all five sessions as soon
as their child becomes eligible for the N.E.F. but who would like to
reserve the remaining sessions for a future term will be asked to pay
for the sessions not immediately required.
The sessions available are:
PRE-SCHOOL GROUP:
Monday - Wednesday morning 9.00 am - 12noon with an option for lunch
until 12.45pm (additional charge £4.00) and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday afternoons
12noon-3pm (afternoon sessions include lunch (no additional charge) as this is
within the 3 hour session. Please note, children bring their own
packed lunch with them.
Children in
the ‘Younger Group’ who become eligible for Nursery Education Funding
but would not be starting school until a year in September, may also be
able to join this group if spaces are available. If the group is full
they will automatically be able to claim their 15 hours child care at
the start of the next academic year.
YOUNGER GROUP:
Thursday and Friday mornings - 9.00am to 12noon - ages 2½ to 3½
Parents/guardians are required to pay for a minimum of 2 sessions in this group. As mentioned, children can join any of the sessions in the 'Pre-School' group after their 3rd Birthday.

Fees
The
current fee, per session, is £11.00, which covers a 3 hour session for
children not in receipt of Nursery Education Funding. For children
eligible for Nursery Education Funding, the charge per session is in
line with the value of the funding currently £14.00. The charge for
lunch club, when not included as part of the 3 hour afternoon session
(which is an extra 45 minutes on top of a morning session)* to bring a
packed lunch and stay until 12.45 pm is currently £4 per lunch.
Fees
are payable at the beginning of each half term, and can be paid in two
equal halves if desired. Bills will be placed in your child's 'pigeon
hole'.
A half terms notice is required before removing a child from Playgroup.
A
fee reduction will be made if a child is absent through illness for 4
consecutive weeks. A fee adjustment may be made if 2 or more siblings
are attending Playgroup, provided neither of those children are
eligible to receive Nursery Education Fund.
For
families on low income, application can be made for assistance with
fees by contacting either the Treasurer or the Chair on the Playgroup
Committee.
*not available to children attending Thursday & Friday mornings - i.e. 'younger group'.

Admissions
When
a place becomes available for a child to start at Playgroup a trial

is registered for children from the ages of 2 ½ to 4+ years. If
children attending Playgroup are not toilet trained, staff will change
