Ben Rhydding Pre-School Playgroup was first established in 1970 and is affiliated to the Pre-School Learning Alliance (P.L.A.) and is registered with the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership.  It is a happy and successful Playgroup run enthusiastically by an expert staff. The Playgroup is situated in the annexe classroom of Ben Rhydding Primary School, which is on the Bolling Road school field and can be accessed off Bolling Road and Manley Road. 

The Playgroup is located in a beautiful setting and comprises a cloakroom, 2 large open plan classrooms, kitchen facilities and a separate bathroom. In addition there is a flat, wet pour (safety play surface) outdoor play area which is used daily, a sloping grassed area and a smaller paved area which open on to a very extensive school field with far reaching views.

In February 2006, Ben Rhydding Pre School Playgroup successfully completed the Pre School Learning Alliance Aiming for Quality Accreditation Scheme. The scheme is endorsed by Investors in Children and is awarded "....for the provision of quality care and education".  In September 2008, Playgroup was awarded "GOLD - outstanding practice" in the Inclusion Quality Standard scheme.
